Final two for the season
By matthew whatever
The last two home games of the 2004 season are this week with Vancouver (Tuesday in Stillwater) and Portland (Saturday at The Jimmy).

Vancouver had a very successful month of July going 5-1-2 (W-T-L). They racked up 13 goals in those eight games failing to score in just one of the match's. Their defense during that time gave up only 5 goals, thanks inpart to goalkeeper Alex Marquez. Marquez started the season as th Whitecaps reserve keeper but has filled the starting position since the last MN/Vanc match, where Michael Franks injuried himself. David Xausa leads the team in goals with seven scoring 4 of those in the month of July.

Western Conference leaders, Portland Timbers will be the final regular season guest at the Jimmy. Portland has yet to clinch a playoff spot in the West but need only a slew of scenerios to get in; so many in fact that I like to believe they are actually already in. Portland is one of only two teams to escape the Jimmy this year with a win; Milwaukee being the other. On top of that blemish is the fact that Portland is the only team the in the West the Thunder haven't beaten or even scored on this year.
