Shortest Rankings EVAR!
By Jesse Erdmann
Yeah, some stuff happened last weekend.  Other stuff is going down this weekend, including a three game road swing by the Dark Clouds.  The Thunder better be up for it and put on a good show for their drunken followers.  Wish I were going, but I've got more important stuff to do, like get married.  Happy weekend!

Miami @ Charleston

Final: 0-3 Charleston
My Prediction: 2-1 Miami

Wednesday

Carolina @ Montreal

Final: 1-4 Montreal
My Prediction: 0-2 Montreal

Portland @ Seattle

Final: 0-2 Seattle
My Prediction: 2-2

Thursday

Puerto Rico @ Vancouver

Final: 1-1
My Prediction: 1-2 Vancouver

Friday

California @ Carolina

Final: 0-2 Carolina
My Prediction: 1-0 California

Saturday

Charleston @ Atlanta

Final: 1-2 Atlanta
My Prediction: 0-3 Atlanta

Portland @ Minnesota

Final: 1-1
My Prediction: 2-1 Portland

Puerto Rico @ Seattle

Final: 0-1 Seattle
My Prediction: 1-2 Seattle

Sunday

Rochester @ Montreal

Final: 0-1 Montreal
My Prediction: 0-2 Montreal

For the week that makes me 4-5 with one correct margin of victory and zero perfect scores.  For the season I'm now at 53-72 with 15 correct margins of victory and 11 exact scores.  The random number generator is 42-83.

Rankings:
Rnk(+/-) Team (W-D-L) Notes
1(0) Seattle (11-5-5) - Hot in the league and scorching in the Open Cup
2(+5) Montreal (9-7-4) - Thumped Carolina and edged Rochester, not bad
3(+2) Atlanta (8-5-7) - A win over a rival is always nice
4(-2) Portland (11-5-4) - Have stumbled the last two weeks
5(-2) Puerto Rico (7-9-5) - Actually did well despite only one point in two games
6(+2) Charleston (7-5-9) - Decent week with a win over playoff spot rival, Miami
7(-3) Miami (8-3-11) - The streak is over
8(-1) Rochester (8-6-8) - Tough loss in French Canada
9(+1) Vancouver (7-8-6) - Needed to do better at home to Puerto Rico
10(+2) Carolina (5-7-9) - Bounced back from recent weeks to defeat Victory
11(0) Minnesota (3-7-8) - Got a point off of the team with the best record
12(-3) California (4-7-12) - Who knows what this team is going to bring on a given day

Predictions:

Thursday

Minnesota @ Portland

My Prediction: 1-1, traveling jackapples urge the good guys on to an unexpected point on the road.

Friday

Miami @ Montreal

My Prediction: 0-2 Montreal, the Impact is gelling since the Vancouver trade.

Carolina @ Rochester

My Prediction: 0-1 Rochester, I can't imagine more than one goal being scored in this game and odds are Hamed Diallo will put it in for Rochester.

Puerto Rico @ Atlanta

My Prediction: 2-2, two of the more offensively minded teams face off with both having had up and down seasons.

Saturday

California @ Charleston

My Prediction: 0-1 Charleston, Cali's ownership has thrown in the towel, but until last week it didn't seem that the rest of the team had.

Vancouver @ Portland

My Prediction: 1-2 Portland, both teams are struggling right now, but this is the Timbers next to last home game and they'll be a little extra motivated.

Minnesota @ Seattle

My Prediction: 2-1 Minnesota, Dark Clouds on Parade rain on the Sounders... who are all a little too puffed up after shellacking Colorado.  I hope.

Sunday

Puerto Rico @ Rochester

My Prediction: 2-1 Puerto Rico, despite Puerto Rico's struggles in Seattle and Vancouver, they're still playing well.  The Rhinos are still a little shaken from injury troubles.

Atlanta @ Miami

My Prediction: 2-1 Atlanta, the Silverbacks seem to be the better team and may push a little harder for the playoffs.

Minnesota @ Vancouver

My Prediction: 1-0 Minnesota, I'm going for gusto here.  Dark Clouds make baby swans cry.

Tuesday

Carolina @ Charleston

My Prediction: 0-2 Charleston, the Battery continue their pursuit of the playoffs as the RailHawks window practically closes.
