Thunder Signs Forward Aaron Paye Through 2010

(February 25, 2008) -- The Minnesota Thunder announced today that forward Aaron Paye has signed for the 2008 season pending USSF approval. The contract sees Paye enter his fifth season with the club. Paye has signed a one year contract with two option years.

Paye, originally from Liberia, joined the Thunder in 2004. He was an integral part of the offense in 2005 tallying seven goals and two assists in 27 games played. In 2007, Paye played in 12 games scoring four goals and three assists.

"Aaron Paye has all the quality to be one of the best goalscorers in the country,” said Thunder head coach Amos Magee. “He has shown glimpses of greatness in the last several years and continues to make strides as a player. I believe that 2008 will be the year he shows the rest of the USL that he is among he best in our league."

Paye spent his collegiate career at Farleigh Dickinson University. He was a third-team All-American selection during his senior season at Fairleigh Dickinson and was named to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region first-team during his sophomore season and the second-team during his junior season. He led FDU to four straight NEC tournament titles and three straight NCAA tournament appearances. He finished his four year career with 29 goals and 14 assists for 72 points.
