Twin Cities Soccer Pubs

Here are some places you can watch soccer in the Twin Cities. Please call ahead for exact details, or visit the messageboard and ask. If you know of a good place that is not listed here, please let us know by sending email to

The Local
Downtown Minneapolis
931 Nicollet Mall
Minneapolis, MN 55402
The Local is an Irish pub on the corner of 10th and Nicollet. Beer drinkers will appreciate the proper 20oz. pints. The food is good, if not a bit on the expensive side. The Local is a great place for breakfast during those 8am matches. The place is very pro-soccer and they will show just about anything if you ask. For bigger events, they'll put it on the big 95" HDTV.

Brit's Pub
Downtown Minneapolis
1110 Nicollet Mall
Minneapolis, MN 55403
Brit's is sort of the quintessential soccer pub of the Twin Cities. Soccer tends to take a back seat to baseball or football sometimes, except EPL and England stuff. This is changing as more people are showing up for pro-USA viewing. For big events such as Champions Cup or World Cup, they open "the Long Room," a party room with a bigger TV. Food is British style, obviously, except it is served warm and not cold and soggy. Far better than what you'd get in England. If you plan on going for soccer, it is best that you call ahead to make sure they'll have your event on TV.

McMahon's Pub
South Minneapolis
3001 E Lake St
Minneapolis, MN 55406
Very soccer-dedicated bar with a Man U focus and the setup to watch three live games at once. Fox Soccer Channel and Setanta subscriber. McMahon's is open for all EPL matches, including the 6:45 AM kickoffs, with complimentary coffee and cookies. See their site for schedules and specials. Full menu, free parking, and free wifi.

The Nomad World Pub
Minneapolis Cedar-Riverside
500 Cedar Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55454
The Nomad is soccer friendly and will generally put soccer on if you ask. Upcoming MLS, Champions League and EPL matches are typically listed on a chalk board in the bar. There is no kitchen, but pizza from Pizza Lucé is available at the bar. They also seem to be cool with bringing your own food in.

Sweetwater Grille & Bar
Downtown St. Paul
161 Saint Anthony Ave # 820B
St Paul, MN 55103
Located in the Kelly Inn across the freeway from the State Capitol, Sweetwater features HD TV and an outdoor patio. Beer selection is limited, but prices are better than most places. Food is also served. Sweetwater is an Official US Soccer Bar.

Claddagh Irish Pub - Shoppes at Arbor Lakes
Maple Grove
7890 Main Street North
Maple Grove, MN 55369
Finally, a soccer bar in the western part of the city! Claddagh Irish Pubs are a national chain (Midwestern US) and all locations are Official US Soccer Bars. They have a full menu and their channel offerings include Setanta.

Holy Land Bakery & Grocery
Northeast Minneapolis
(612) 781-2627
2513 Central Ave NE
Minneapolis, MN 55418
Holy Land is a Northeast Minneapolis institution. No beer, but great food. The lunch buffet is outstanding. Expect a lot of African and Middle Eastern fans, but anyone is welcome.
