News Reports : Thunder Defeat Chicago Fire PDL, Advance To US Open Cup Third Round To Face KC Wizards
Blaine, Minn. (June 16, 2009) -- The weather was dismal but that did not stop the Thunder from advancing to the third round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup by beating the Chicago Fire (PDL) 4-0. This is the third game in a row that the Thunder has won and they have no intention of slowing down. The rain played a factor as passes missed their mark, shots where not on target and players slid all over the field. But Minnesota’s tournament life is still alive. Next for the Thunder is an away game against the Portland Timbers on Friday, June 19 at 10:00 p.m.
